PURPOSE

The Athlae Lyon Starship Research Trust was set up by Athlae Lyon’s family in memory of Athlae, who passed away suddenly in Italy, 2010. The Trust, a registered charity, was established to provide additional funding to facilitate research projects into children’s health issues in conjunction with Starship Children’s Hospital and Starship Foundation.

Those photographs are of some of the children that have been involved in our study. Some are children who have heart conditions and have been involved in the study since they were very young. Others are children and their families that are part of our control group, which means they have volunteered to be part of our study so that they can help future children with congenital heart disease which we are very grateful for their participation.
